Step 1: Quit dubious process in Activity Monitor.

Let’s first find out what processes are running on our PC under the influence of the main search signal. To do so,

  1. Open Finder > Applications > Utilities and then launch the Activity Monitor.
  2. Navigate to the Memory tab.
  3. Look for suspicious processes that are consuming high memory and that look unfamiliar to you. 
  4. Close such processes and click force quit.

Step 2: Remove suspicious applications from the Applications folder.

Since many times the installation of apps is what causes the infection in the system by the adware, let’s begin with removing suspicious applications from the system.

  1. Open Finder > Applications.
  2. Right-click on the app that you have recently installed and move it to trash. 
  3. Also, empty the trash.

Step 3: Trash files related to MainSearchSignal.

  1. Open Finder > Go > Go to the folder from the top menu bar.
  2. Type  /Library/LaunchAgents and hit Enter.
  3. Check for files that look close to the main search signal. (Some examples are “myppes.download.plist”, “installmac.AppRemoval.plist”, “kuklorest.update.plist”, “mykotlerino.ltvbit.plist.”)
  4. Move all of these files and folders to trash.
  5. Repeat step 2 for all these paths:
    1. ~/Library/LaunchAgents      
    2. /Library/Application Support  
    3. /Library/LaunchDaemons

Step 4: Delete MainSearchSignal in Profiles.

This adware does just not create unwanted files and folders on your system but can also create a profile. Just look at how troublesome this adware can get. However, we’ve got the solution for even deleting that Main Search Signal in Profiles. 

  1. Click on Apple Logo > System Preferences > Profiles.
  2. Select a suspicious profile and click on the (-) button to remove it.
  3. Don’t forget to empty the trash.

Step 5: Uninstall malicious extensions from your browser.

Next, we gotta check what adversities have the main search signal performed on your browser and get rid of them.

  1. Open Safari > Preferences.
  2. Navigate to the General tab and look for the Homepage address. Make sure that it is Safari’s default home-page address or the one that you had chosen and not something else.
